Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Diagnostic & Interventional Cardiac MRI

A post-doctoral research associate position is available at King’s College London within the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences, located at the St Thomas Hospital. King’s College London, with its 200 years of heritage, is recognised today as a world-leading research university.
Our center is equipped with several MRI scanners including two Siemens 1.5T XMR systems and two Siemens 3T scanners. The applicant will join an interdisciplinary environment with a strong experience and expertise in interventional/cardiac MRI as well as in image processing. The project will involve the development of novel MRI techniques for diagnostic and interventional cardiac MRI, publishing in high impact journals and presenting findings at international conferences. We are particularly interested in the development of novel methods in one of the following areas: myocardial tissue characterisation, myocardial perfusion imaging, visualisation/tracking of interventional devices, and visualisation of ablation lesions.
The candidate should have a strong experience and track record in at least one of the following: MRI sequence development, MR-reconstruction/image processing techniques, AI-based techniques for medical imaging. The successful candidate should have a PhD in biomedical engineering, medical physics, computer science or related fields. The applicant should ideally have good programming skills in Matlab/C++. The post-holder will work under the supervision of Dr. Sebastien Roujol and in close collaborations with Dr. Kuberan Pushparajah and Prof. Reza Razavi.
The initial appointment is for a period of 2 years with possible extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding. The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £38,304 – £45,026 per annum per annum. The deadline for applications is 13 June 2021.
