The Medical School of the University of Duisburg-Essen is offering the following position at the Department of Neurology at the
earliest possible opportunity:
Full Professorship for „Advanced Neuroimaging“
(W3 BBesO grade post)

The holder of this position will be responsible for representing the scientific field of Neuroimaging in research and teaching. Advanced experience in functional and structural neuroimaging with magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is expected. Experience in the development and application of fMRI methods on ultra-high field systems (7 Tesla or more) is desirable. The applicant must have up-to-date and future-oriented research topics in this field. A good fit to the main research areas of the Erwin L. Hahn Institute for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, the Center for Translational Neuro- and Behavioral Sciences and existing collaborative research networks (e.g. SFB/TRR 289, SFB 1280, FOR2974) is expected. The applicant should have
experience in leading her/his own research group and demonstrate a willingness to work in an interdisciplinary manner. The ability to promote young scientists is expected.

Publications in high-ranking peer-reviewed journals and successful experience with competitive third-party fundingapplications, preferably DFG-funding projects, as well as involvement in teaching activities of the university are mandatory.

The Medical Faculty in Essen promotes research particularly in the following areas: Cardiovascular Disease, Oncology,Transplantation Medicine and Translational Neuro- and Behavior Sciences, as well as the bridging disciplines of Immunology and Infectious Diseases.

As the University of Duisburg-Essen puts special emphasis on the quality of academic teaching, concepts on the participation inteaching activities with regard to the profile of the University Medical School should be provided.
Qualifications according to § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW are required.
