Postdoctoral Fellow: Brain Imaging

Donders Institute, Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging

Postdoctoral Fellow: Brain Imaging

Description: The Radboud Excellence Initiative offers postdoctoral fellowships to researchers who completed their doctorate less than eight years prior to the date of nomination.

This is a competitive award based on academic quality and not tied to a particular grant or research project. We would be happy to nominate a laureate to work on any of the research topics currently active in our group: Novel BOLD contrast mechanisms; Combining focused ultrasound stimulation with functional MRI; Laminar fMRI; non-CPMG-TSE; Myelin-Water Imaging and Susceptibility Mapping; Advanced quantitative imaging pipelines for population studies.

Qualifications: You should have a track record in MRI methodology consistent with your chosen research field. You should have obtained your PhD no earlier than June 2015.

Resources: The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour at the Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands is a world-class interfaculty research centre that houses more than 700 international researchers devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of the human mind. English is the lingua franca at the Institute. The Donders has been the home for various large population studies in the context of healthy brain maturation, language learning as wells as movement, vascular and psychiatric disorders. Many have included extensive quantitative MRI that is now available for further exploratory analysis linking brain structure to brain function.

The centre is equipped with four MRI scanners (7T Siemens, 3x 3T Siemens Prisma/Skyra), a 275-channel MEG system, a brain stimulation laboratory including state-of-the-art transcranial ultrasound equipment, several (MR-compatible) EEG systems, and high-performance computational and data sharing facilities. Soon, it will play a leading role in the establishment of the Dutch national 14 Tesla Initiative (DYNAMIC).
