Postdoctoral Fellow: MR Physicist: Transcranial Ultrasound (TUS) with MRI

Website Donders Institute, Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging
We are looking for an MR physicist to work on combining transcranial ultrasound (TUS) with MRI. The position is part of a prestigious European Innovation Council Pathfinder Project named CITRUS: “Closed-loop Individualised image-guided Transcranial Ultrasonic Stimulation” (https://mpbmt.meduniwien.ac.at/en/forschung/projekte/citrus/ ). You will be a key part of an international and interdisciplinary team working to unlock the full potential of TUS for brain stimulation in neuroscience, neurology and psychiatry.
Qualifications: You will have completed a PhD preferably with MRI content and a background in the physical sciences. You are a meticulous and skilled scientist willing to take responsibility for your share of the project within a multidisciplinary team. You will have good communication skills and feel comfortable presenting your work to a range of audiences. Your track record should include scientific publication and experience of presenting at international conferences. The ability to program in C++, matlab, and IDEA (the development environment of Siemens) would be an asset. It is not necessary to tick all of these boxes to be considered for the position as we consider the quality and motivation of the candidate to be as important as prior experience.
Resources: The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour at the Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands is a world-class interfaculty research centre that houses more than 700 international researchers devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of the human mind. English is the lingua franca at the Institute.
The centre is equipped with four MRI scanners (7T Siemens, 3x 3T Siemens Prisma/Skyra), a brain stimulation laboratory, and high-performance computational and data sharing facilities. The Radboud University has an interfaculty initiative in focused ultrasound in addition to the CITRUS project that will provide support and collaboration opportunities.
How to apply: Interested candidates can informally contact David Norris directly (david.norris@donders.ru.nl). The deadline for application is 30th June 2023 via the University website only https://www.ru.nl/en/working-at/job-opportunities/postdoctoral-researcher-combined-transcranial-ultrasound-and-mri#apply
